1. So 2 years ago a cab driver picked up a crying girl on Halloween night

She ran out of the club because she and her friend got into a huge argument over his “drunk ethnic” costume. The snow graced the city for the first time that fall, and she entered the cab in tears and snowflakes.

The cab driver turned up the.
heat and drove her home. Just as she asked reached for her wallet he asked her why she cried. She broke down and told him of how tired she was of defending, of protesting and believing in people. He told her of Morocco and his dream, being built brick by brick next to sea. He blessed her a goodnight and to sleep she went.

Two years later, on a rainy Tuesday night before Halloween she hailed a cab home…and just as she pulled out her wallet, he said “how are you now, did your friend ever apologize for that costume?”

He told me his house was almost built by the sea.. That he always remembered the conversation we had, and how life worked in mysterious ways.

Chicago is a big city, he said..If we meet a third time in another few years, then life has plans for us..

So we attempted to go to the Morton Arboretum today to look at all the pretty trees with different colored leaves. He drove 35 minutes to get there, got there, then we saw the neverending line to get inside. So we ended up turning right back around and moving onto disc 3 of the third season of The Wire.
I guess Sundays are just meant to be lazy..

  9. They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That’s the Chicago way.
